I've been playing with 3 programs as of late

1) Flash (of course; who here DOESN'T play with flash from time to time amirite?!)
2) Sketchup
3) Swift 3D

I've had a basic understanding of flash for quite some time. Sketchup was really easy to jump in to, and I'd describe it as the MS Paint of 3D software. Swift is a bit of a pain in the ass at the moment, seeing as that's the most recent one I've been working with. I thought I'd show something I've been working on.

I've always wanted to have a space battle recreated in flash, and I always figured using some 3D models would be the best and coolest looking way of doing it. So after playing around for awhile, this is a little loop I put together:

The craft isn't textured at all, and there's only default lighting, so I'll have to play around with some of that stuff. I had it textured (or at least colored) in sketchup, but when I exported to Swift, it was all like "fuck you it's not good enough start over" and I cried a little on the inside.

Had to cancel a flight and I feel like shit. I've got weird symptoms (some only revealing themselves yesterday) including headache, migraine, congestion, lower back pain, back pain when breathing in heavily, dizziness, dark orange pee, vomitting. Sore/ burning throat.

Figured I'd show a little bit of this here flash animation. I've gotten some progress down on it, put in some of the voices, moved some tweens, fbf'd some things, etc etc. I might just be able to get this done in a few more days; we'll see. I've got a few other scenes to do and add in that aren't done (they're saved as graphics in the .fla) make a scene select screen and I should be ready ta go.

Also they're holding a Super Bowl in my honor. Gonna watch the game with a bunch of friends and pretend every time they cheer it's for me.

So for this animation, I'm going to experiment with actually animating MOVING BODY PARTS :O (Which I've never really done before, so it's a lot of trial and error for me...)

You'll see two buttons (Play & Scene). Scene does nothing as of now (Since only one of the scenes is currently filled. When you push "Play", it will jump a few test scenes and empty scenes before it gets to the scene I'm trying to work on (I don't want to do the scenes in the order I want them viewed... Shut up I'm weird). It's just a rough sketch but I gave it my all. It isn't anything like how the good animators on here do it but I'm trying... Practice makes perfect right?

When I view it on my computer it lags a bit, but when I view it on here it's not as bad. Does it get choppy for you guys?

So I've done a couple voices for a couple people, though not many. I'm happy I got my parts done so that I can actually animate this thing. Oh, I also figured out how to make my voice sound like the Overmind and Protoss units, so for scene select I might have one of those races talk about the scenes. Not sure yet.

Nearly got all of my furniture. My birthday is now in just a week (yes, my Birthday is on the Super Bowl) so all I've asked for is moving away shtuff. I might wait a little later than March to move though, seeing as it'd probably be easier to move during the summer what with it being warmer and all (that and I think it'd be best to save 6 months worth of rent; about $3,000-3,500 in case something bad happens) and that saving process is slow since I've been helping pay a lot of bills (we're slowly getting out of this rut at home :D)
