The process of moving and other things

Posted by SardonicSamurai - January 4th, 2011

So I know where I want to move, I can afford it, but there's a lot of things I need to get before moving out.

32in LCD TV, TV stand, couch, dining room table set with chairs, microwave, vacuum, and a bunch of small things (like towels and hygiene stuff)

Those are really only necessities. A lot of that stuff I really don't need right away (like a dining room set, since I can eat on the couch while watching TV, haha) but it's nice to have for when I have people over, ha.

Now that the holidays are over, I can concentrate on getting those things, as well as getting a checkings account rather than constantly using my savings account. I can purchase things online (like a domain name or cool knickknack's) and pay things off easily. I HATE credit cards and anything where I might have to pay someone more money than I should, so I've always been a cold hard cash guy. Now that I'm moving, I sort've have to get with the times... Paper isn't as cool as it used to be...

I basically put a halt on my animating and other projects for awhile due to Holiday things, and I'm not sure when I'll start back up. Swanncraft needs voice work before I begin to animate Swann, but other than that backgrounds and things are good. It's hard to do voice work when you live with others. I think once I set up my checkings and start to save for my things I'll begin animating again. Should be easier to save now that the Holidays are done :p (I spent a good $600+ on gifts last year).

Anyway that's it. Go away. GO. SHOO. I'm busy. >:C

sounds lik a plan, get to it!

I'm trying. I've got about $1.2k sitting in the bank, but I'll be spending around $1-1.5k on things for the apartment, with monthly payments being $460 for the apartment (plus other expenses). I want at least another $1.5k in the bank in case my car takes a shit on me, so it's a long process.

After that, I'm going to have wayyy too much free time, and I plan on trying to take advantage of it. Until then, busy busy busy. Nice to hear from ya :D

Cool cool.. I stopped using paper a decade ago... Hopefully your bank is decent... Mine has no fucktarded fees and pays me a lil something with my little checking account. >:D. And I stay in the ghetto so carrying cash worries me :/

I got really lucky with this place. It's not in the ghetto (though if I wanted to drive there it wouldn't take long, haha) and all I pay for is electric. Everything else is included. I'm about a 2 mile bike ride away from a park, and I've got a large shopping center about 4 miles away. A local bar 1 mile away, a few restaurants not very far... it seems like a dream place for me.

Then again, I'm not very picky. I just can't wait until when I come home, I get to STAY home. When I come home currently, I usually run errands to ship things out or get groceries. It's great that my parents have let me stay for so long, but my free time is only at night. I know living on my own will be tough at times, but the good out ways the bad big time.
